美国大学研究“超强酸”,有望让LED更便宜更安全
据外媒报道,美国俄勒冈州立大学的研究人员使用了一种比汽车电池酸还要强得多的“超强酸”,来提高由铜
铟二硫化物制成的“量子点”的性能。这一研究有望产生更便宜、更安全的LED。
量子点在光学和电子学中使用已经有一段时间了。但由于铅和镉的毒性,它们的制造成本很高,对于一些潜在
的应用(如生物医学成像)来说,也是不安全的。
俄勒冈州立大学化学工程教授Greg Herman表示说,“量子点可应用于各种产品和技术中,但对于大众消费使
用来说,可能最重要的是改进LED照明”,“现在市场上就有使用量子点的发光纳米晶体电视。”
这项最新研究发表在Materials Letters期刊上,在研究中,研究人员研究出了一种超强酸的处理方法,可以
将无毒、非重金属量子点的光致发光提高到硒化镉相当的程度。
Greg Herman还说:“这种超强酸处理过的量子点的光发射要好得多”,“现在仍然有一些问题需要解决,但
我们已经证明,它能够改善量子点的寿命以及提高量子效率。而且由于这些量子点无毒性,因此也有潜力用于
生物医学应用领域。”
