2013-03-04陕西省渭南市澄城县首条LED路灯样板街正式亮灯。2013年1月1日，经过3天的运行测算，在这条全长1.5公里多的道路上安装的78盏LED路灯，与普通高压钠灯路灯相比，每年可节约电费12多万元。这条LED路灯样板街，位于澄城县开发区。晚上，这里的路灯光线比其他马路上的路灯更亮，灯光更柔和。
陕西安捷半导体照明有限公司承担此次光源改造项目，LED光源是第四代光源，LED灯具有省电、照度大、使用寿命长等特点。一盏普通高压钠灯路灯每小时耗1度电，而改用LED路灯后，每小时可节电70%。
此前，澄城县也进行过风能、太阳能“风光互补”节能路灯的试点。但据澄城县路灯管理所技术人员介绍，澄城县的太阳能资源不丰富，而且风力也不大，因此风光灯不大适合作为大型道路的照明灯使用。相比之下，节能环保的LED路灯更适合在澄城县推广。
